Today I had the opportunity to skype with a third grade class in Alaska!!! Their librarian had come across A Place for Sam as she was searching for books for her students to teach them about the power of being yourself and positive connections with others. For those of you who have read Sam understand the significance of this class being from Alaska...and for those of you who haven't - you'll have to read it to find out😉
I was overjoyed to spend this time listening to and connecting with these kids across the country!
It was such a gift and a moment I will treasure...
Every talk I do is special but this one I hold dear for many reasons including it will be my last talk before I begin my treatment plan for my newly diagnosed cancer.
I am not sure whether to laugh or cry about all of this. I believe I am meant to speak and share these messages of hope with others yet now my mouth will be undergoing surgeries and I will need time to heal. I know this is all temporary and I'll be back at it again once I am all healed but there is a sadness in my heart today that I had to cancel my spring talks and that I don't have the opportunity to share Sam's message with more kids.
I want to plant the seeds in all their hearts that they are valuable, that they are loved and that peace comes from being who you were made to be.
I will have the chance to do it again. Until then I will write when inspired and hope I have more to share with them once this season passes.
I will ask that if you have an opportunity to share Sam's message with a kid, or a kid at heart, please do...that will be fuel in my tank during this time. Thank you💝🙏😊
With gratitude and hope,
