I randomly break into song around the house. It drives my kids crazy but I love it. One song I break into when I see my kids having trouble with something is one I learned in middle school chorus. It goes...
"If you first don't succeed try again
If it's courage you need try again
If your plan just won't do, throw it out start anew
Keep right on that's your cue
I love this song because it covers the bases of what to do when we don't succeed.
An important part of succeeding is recognizing that failure is part of the process. We are going to take a step backwards at times. When we do we have to make a choice; to stop, go backwards or to try again.
If you have had a misstep towards your goals I encourage you to...
Pause. Breathe. Pray.
Then try again.
"Our greatest glory is not in never failing but in rising up every time we fail"
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
If you haven't slipped yet, good for you! Keep on going! And if you have, rise up and try again:-)
